3000: RTP Basic 3000 Course*
This 4 day course provides the inexperienced users of the RTP3000 Safety and Control System a comprehensive introduction including configuration, operation and programming of the system. Course concepts are reinforced by hands-on exercises using the NetArrays graphical programming environment and RTP3000 hardware. Covers all RTP NetSuite products.

Course Objective:

Upon completion student will be able to:

  • Understand RTP3000 terminology, system architecture, cabling, I/O rack configuration and card addressing.
  • Implement RTP3000 dual, triple and quad redundancy
  • Implement and configure I/O redundancy in hardware and software
  • Create applications and apply logic to I/O modules
  • Implement system diagnostics and isolate faults
  • Understand peer to peer communications
  • Understand and implement signal validation for redundant input signals
  • Understand batch processing using state sequence forms
  • Use all basic NetArrays objects.
  • Use project tag database to manage system tags.
  • Understand RTP I/O card features and capabilities.
  • Simulate and debug a real application.
  • Basic understanding of all NetSuite products.
  • Understand and use the RTPTrend to trend live and historical data.
  • Understand and configure the RTPOPC server.
  • Understand and configure the RTPADA application for Data Alarming and Archiving
  • Understand and use FIFO’s for post trip analysis.
  • Understand and build basic graphics to monitor and control a process

Prerequisite:

Working knowledge of personal computers. Minimum of 6 months experience using process control computers or data acquisition systems.

Who Should Attend?

Recommended for electricians, technicians, engineers, and maintenance personnel needing a comprehensive introduction to the RTP3000 Safety and Control System.

 

3000H: RTP Basic 3000H Course*
Same as 3000 course, plus an optional 5th day provides an overview of RTP's HMI software.


3000-M: 3000 Maintenance Course
This 3 day course teaches technical personnel the skills necessary to troubleshoot and repair faults in the RTP3000 Safety and Control system. The NetArrays graphical configurator is used to provide diagnostic capabilities. System faults are placed in laboratory equipment for students to practice troubleshooting skills, then determine the corrective action to take based on the diagnostic information available.

Course Objective:

Upon completion student will be able to:

  • Understand RTP3000 terminology, system architecture, configurations, I/O rack and card addressing.
  • Implement RTP3000 processor redundancy and triple redundancy
  • Install the necessary components for a RTP3000 system.
  • Use NetArrays software to configure a RTP3000 system.
  • Manage system performance for optimal I/O scanning and processor utilization
  • Implement system diagnostics
  • Interpret the device status messages and error detection words as software troubleshooting tools.
  • Use the I/O tag browser, Debug Function, Override and Diagnostic LEDs to determine system faults.
  • Write a test program to do I/O card testing and verification.
  • Determine program and logic flow from objects and modules in the database.
  • Use the NetArrays editor to modify an application program.
  • Identify and interpret error messages to narrow a problem to a replaceable component.
  • Perform target node upgrades to flash memory.
  • Use a LAN analyzer to analyze network activity.

Prerequisite:

In order to obtain the greatest benefit from this course, students should have a basic understanding of electrical theory and practice.

Who Should Attend?

The course is intended for personnel involved in the maintenance and troubleshooting of the RTP3000 Hybrid Control System.

 

3000-I: RTP Intermediate 3000 Course
This 4 day course teaches the experienced user of the RTP3000 system, advanced programming instructions and techniques.  Special function cards are introduced as process application solutions.  Customer-specific applications may be covered.

 

2300: RTP Basic 2300 Course*
This 4 day course provides the inexperienced user of the RTP2300 DCS or RTP2500 SIS system a comprehensive introduction to the configuration, operation and programming of the RTP2300 DCS or RTP2500 SIS System. Course concepts are reinforced by hands-on exercises using the NetArrays graphical programming environment and RTP2300/2500 hardware. Covers all RTP NetSuite products.

 

2300H: RTP Basic 2300H Course*
Same as 2300 course, plus an optional 5th day provides an overview of RTP's HMI software.

 

2300-M: 2300 Maintenance Course
This 3-day course teaches technical personnel the skills necessary to troubleshoot and repair faults in the 2300 / 2500 Hybrid Control system. The NetArrays graphical configurator is used to provide diagnostic capabilities. System faults are placed in laboratory equipment for students to practice troubleshooting skills, then determine the corrective action to take based on the diagnostic information available.

 

2300-I: RTP Intermediate 2300 Course
This 4 day course teaches the experienced user of the RTP2300 / 2500 system, advanced programming instructions and techniques.  Special function cards are introduced as process application solutions.  Customer-specific applications may be covered.

 

100: RTP Course 100 (Basic 2000/2200/Micro2000)*
This 4- day course provides the inexperienced user of the Hybrid Control system a thorough intro to configuration, operation and programming of the RTP2000/2200 Hybrid Control System. Course concepts are reinforced by hands-on exercises using the NetArrays graphical user configurator and RTP2000/2200 target node. Covers all RTP NetSuite products.

 

100H: RTP Course 100H (Basic 2000/2200/Micro2000)*
Same as above plus an optional 5th day provides an overview of RTP's HMI software.

 

101: Intermediate RTP NetSuite
This 4-day course teaches the experienced user of the RTP2000 Hybrid Control system, advanced programming instructions and techniques. Special function cards are introduced as process application solutions.

 

200: RTPView HMI
This 3-day course is primarily designed to provide the student with a good working knowledge of RTPView. The course includes lab time for configuring and applying the RTPView software to process applications. This course takes the student through the development of an application that uses many components of the software.

 

300: RTP 2000/2200/Micro2000 Maintenance
This 3-day course teaches technical personnel the skills necessary to troubleshoot and repair faults in the RTP2000 Hybrid Control system. The NetArrays graphical configurator is used to provide diagnostic capabilities. System faults are placed in laboratory equipment for students to practice troubleshooting skills, then determine the corrective action to take based on the diagnostic information available.

 


*Note: Courses 3000, 3000H, 2300, 2300H, 100 and 100H are held concurrently. The optional 5th day is for training on the RTPView (HMI).
