Engineering APPLICATION ENGINEER

Looking for an individual to join our multinational application engineering group to perform application development and testing for our high tech control and safety system and associated software. This position is based in our Pompano Beach, Florida headquarters.

Responsibilities include:
  • As a member of the product development team, perform final qualification of new products, as well as changes to existing products.
  • Work with field engineers responsible for developing responses to customers request for a proposal and work on the applications necessary to meet their requirements.
  • May be required to travel to customer location in order to provide on-site technical support or product training (5%).
Job Requirements:
  • Advise existing customers on solutions to their issues and advise them on proper implementation of their system.
  • Meet with customers and provide seminars and training.
  • Able to continuously exhibit the highest levels of professional discretion as a technical representative of RTP in all customer relationships.
  • Energetic, curious, resourceful, highly creative and self-motivated. Able to thrive in a fast-moving and sometimes ambiguous environment.

  • Candidate must have strong oral & written communication skills in English to include the ability to provide group presentations in a seminar environment and capable to coordinate highly technical discussions as a member of the product development and project engineering teams

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years working in a product support environment.
Engineering SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Join RTP Corp’s software design team and utilize your software skills to develop real-time software used in our critical control and safety applications. We are seeking candidates with experience in real-time controls, Ethernet communications, object oriented analysis and design, and C++ who are looking to make an immediate contribution.

Responsibilities include:
  • Design specifications using object oriented analysis, object oriented design, and UML
  • Design, code, and test of real-time embedded software using C/C++
  • Carry out module, unit, and system integration testing
  • Document each activity in the software development life cycle
  • Maintain designed software units under a configuration management system
  • Aid in troubleshooting/diagnosing software problems
Qualifications:
  • Software development life cycle experience
  • Ethernet communications including use of a LAN analyzer
  • Device driver development for x86 platform (Ethernet, USB, PCIe)
  • Structured programming techniques in the development of RTOS, communication protocols.
  • Minimum 5 years real-time software development utilizing C/C++
  • Ability to work in a high pace environment
Engineering PRODUCT SUPPORT ENGINEER

Current availability for detail oriented individual based in our Pompano Beach office.

Responsibilities include:
  • Develop, modify and maintain test applications used for testing RTP Corp product releases, modifications, and patches
  • Provide results of testing to development engineers in order to remedy any issues found or enhance the product.
  • Investigate, analyze and resolve problems and issues related to assigned applications, reports and/or processes
  • Development of Windows based GUI applications using C, C++, and VB.
  • Maintain designed software units under a configuration management system
  • Aid in troubleshooting/diagnosing software issues
  • Develop, modify and maintain documentation for RTP Corporation product.
  • Provide technical support by telephone and e-mail communication to RTP’s customers.
  • Gather information from customers in order to diagnose their issue and provide technical solutions in an accurate and timely manner.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and understanding of software development life cycle
  • Knowledge of programming languages, Microsoft Office programs, and Windows Operating Systems
  • Minimum 2 years development utilizing C, C++, and VB
Engineering HARDWARE TECHNICIAN

Current availability based in our Pompano Beach office.

Responsibilities include:
  • Troubleshoot prototype products and take necessary corrective action; process includes selection of components; providing documentation and recommending design modifications.
  • Assist Test Engineering in the development of tests for new product introduction.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering to ensure manufacturability of new products.
Tools and Equipment Used:
  • Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, personal computer, test and/or diagnostic equipment, soldering and assembly hand tools, etc.
Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years technical school with a minimum of five (5) years related work experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of digital and analog circuitry and techniques used for troubleshooting of digital/analog devices.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be familiar with CAD systems and schematic capture software and applications on P.C.
